About the International School Haarlem
The International School Haarlem has two Primary sites, one site for Groups 1-3 and another for Groups 4-7. We also have an International Baccalaureate (IB) accredited Secondary department for students aged 11-18 years.
ISH offers international curricular to students who qualify through their global mobility. We are proud of our school with its open-minded, positive and engaged culture. Our international community is the heart of the school.
In the Early Years (ages 4-5), children are taught through active, play based learning. Children explore opportunities to develop strong foundations for learning by working within the framework of the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. By the end of the Early Years, most children will have acquired early reading and number skills.
In the Primary Years (ages 5-11), learning guidance is taken from the English National Curriculum for English and Maths as well as the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). We are awarded ‘recognised school status’ for IPC. We use the IPC framework to provide a thematic, multi-disciplinary approach to learning history, geography, science, ICT and computing, design, technology and innovation, art, health and wellbeing, music and physical education. IPC actively promotes personal learning alongside curriculum content.
The core of learning at ISH consists of a wide range of differentiated teaching and learning activities that excite, challenge and support children, whatever their interests or ability.
